The Harari National League’s central committee held a 3-day meeting in the city of Harar from February 9th to 11th, 2008. The central committee voted to give representation to regions that had none before in the general assembly or Sosum.

The regions that the central committee voted to give new representation include Harar (outside Jogol), Haramaya, Fadis, Combolcha, Dader, and Asebe Tefari.

Previously the regions that had representation in the assembly included the Jogol, Addis Ababa, Dire Dawa, Jigjiga, Goursum, Djibouti, and Nazret. The Jogol had 150 seats, while Addis and Dire Dawa had 80 and 70 seats, respectively. Jigjiga, Goursum, Djibouti, and Nazret had 10 seats each.
