President Murad Met with British Ambassador PDF Print E-mail

Meeting with UK AmbassadorHarar - The President of the Harari National Regional State, H.E. Murad Abdulhadi, met with the new British Ambassador to Ethiopia on Thursday January 31, 2008. The Ambassador, Mr. Norman Ling, arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on January 8th, 2008 to assume his new post.

President Murad and the Ambassador discussed means of further increasing the assistance that is provided to the Regional State by the UK in Capacity Building sector.  President Murad noted that Harar was the very first location in Ethiopia to host a British Council.

CC MeetingThe Harari National League’s central committee held a 3-day meeting in the city of Harar from February 9th to 11th, 2008. The central committee voted to give representation to regions that had none before in the general assembly or Sosum.

The regions that the central committee voted to give new representation include Harar (outside Jogol), Haramaya, Fadis, Combolcha, Dader, and Asebe Tefari.

Previously the regions that had representation in the assembly included the Jogol, Addis Ababa, Dire Dawa, Jigjiga, Goursum, Djibouti, and Nazret. The Jogol had 150 seats, while Addis and Dire Dawa had 80 and 70 seats, respectively. Jigjiga, Goursum, Djibouti, and Nazret had 10 seats each.

Zaki SherifThe renowned cancer research scientist, Prof. Zeki Sherif, has expressed his views on the PowerPoint presentation of Harar Interest Advocacy Group Iinternational (HIAGI) and extended his remarkable advice to all Hararies around the world. Prof. Zeki summerises the salient points of HIAGI project stating "Assalamu Alaikum Br. Salahadin. I viewed your Power Point presentation. I think it is well-organized and timely prepared.

I especially like the proposal that your core project emphasizes, which is the transfer of knowledge between expatriate nationals (i. Diaspora) and the indigenous Harares." He stressed that "Consulting with the Harar administration and including it in the proposed project was also a good idea. and As they say, a journey of 1000 miles begins with the first step. I believe this proposal may be that first step

I believe this proposal may be that first step. It needs a rigorous plan of action and a mandatory follow-up for each segment of the project as you succintly laid out in your presentation.

As’salamu Aleykum to all brothers and Sisters,
 
Our people have suffered for years due to lack the basic needs of water and descent sanitation. It was great to see finally the process of resolving the issue was underway.
 
However what we have learned today on this article (if it happens to be true) it is outrageous to hold the public to deny its immediate needs on some financial dispute between the federal and the regional government. We should contact our Harari officials and seek information of what is at play,
