• Harar Interest Advocacy Group International Inc. (HIAGI)

HIAGI was established in Melbourne Australia in 2007 as an interest group. because of the online Harar Millennium Debates and discussions which have shown an information gap between Harar, our homeland and the Hararian Diaspora. Its idea was initiated by br.Mahbub Ibrahim, Khalid Ahmed and Salahadin Khairo and then gained enormous support around the world.

HIAGI operates as a modern and efficient organisation advocating the interest of Harar and Hararies around the world; and providing practical advice that support the process of sustainable economic development in Harar; helpds to create energetic Harari communities across the globe and cultivates strong alliance between Harar and its associates.

HIAGI’s Head office is located at Werribee, Western Melbourne in the State of Victoria in Australia and has it's representatives strategically placed in Ethiopia, Europe, the Middle East, The USA and Canada. On August 17 HIAGI was incorporated as none profit (charitable), non governmental organisation under the laws of the State of Victoria in Australia.

HIAGI provides a wide range of research, advocacy, advisory and charitable services to  Hararies, Harari government and its associates which have socio-economic and political ties with Harar and Hararies around the world.

What we do

HIAGI conducts applied researches that identify the limits and constrains affecting the socio-economic development of Harar and Hararies and advocates for its implementation.

HIAGI manages and controls its staff and takes great pride in its staff who are committed to achieving positive changes in Harar and Hararies. 

HIAGI disseminates the results of its practical achievements with Harari government and other non governmental organisation to the beneficiaries or its stakeholders applying HIAGI’s values, helps meet their requirements of increased productivity and thereby contributes to the overall long term economic, social and environmental plans and goals of Harari State.

HIAGI offers, through its network, to stakeholder's rapid, accurate and independent information about the States of Affairs in Harar and Hararies around the world.

HIAGI strongly supports joint community partnership such as Networking and closely working in cooperation with other Harari communities and their associates around the world to further its missions and visions.

What we achieved

HIAGI has gained enormous support from all over the world because of its realistic and achievable missions and visions which are deemed timely; and the necessary conditions to channel resources from overseas to the homeland Harar.

HIAGI has attracted the finest of Harari individuals and brains around the world to its cause and have greatly contributed in the process of galvanising and jolting Harari communities around the world to play their part in the development process of Harar.

HIAGI will continue to play vital role in helping maintain strong and viable Harari communities through out the world in the process of achieving sustainable scoio-economic development in Harar in the short, medium and long term prospects (INSHA-Allah).
