Please, click here for full message A joint statement released by the Community Organisations of Ethiopian Origin regarding the Debate on Ethiopian Federalism (3 March 2009) on Ethiopian National TV. This joint statement highlights its appreciations to the Ethiopian government for its effort to achieve positive socio-economic and political changes in Ethiopia. The joint statement clearly indicates its objections to the allegations of the Ethiopian opposition parties that Federalism in Ethiopian inherently wrong and dysfunctional. However the statement provided detailed explanations for the underlying basis for the promotion of Federalism in Ethiopia as the answer to the needs of nations and nationalities of Ethiopia. |

Monday, 16 November 2009 Harar, November 16 (WIC) – Speaker of the Harari State Council, Abdulmalik Beker, urged the three government organs to team up efforts for the success of the ongoing struggle against corruption. Abdulmalik said at an awareness raising workshop organized by the Federal Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (FEACC) to members of the State Council that the fight against corruption should not be left only for EFACC. |
